This book was an interesting read as well because it literally documents their travels through the lower 48. There are pictures and stores about of the food; pictures and stores about their travels, and pictures and stores about the restaurants that inspired the recipes in this cookbook.
This book would make a great holiday gift for someone who likes to travel or someone that lives in or is from the south!
These dry rub ribs were delicious and a change of pace from your normal 'wet' ribs.
This cheese sauce was just ok in my book (I probably won't be making it again). The original recipe all for cheddar cheese, which mine did not melt all the way and was still chunky. If you do make it (or if I ever make it again) I will use Velveeta and make it in the crockpot to help it stay warm. This apple pie was the highlight of this book! Who could go wrong with a graham cracker pie crust, carmel, and a streusel topping. The only thing I will do next time (because I WILL be making this pie on a regular biases, well as regular as I make pie) is to add more carmel and nuts to the recipe. How on earth can you go wrong with more carmel and nuts.
These snickerdoodles were good and chewy (when not over baked). But I am still on the hunt for the sinkerdoodle recipe that I grew up making!
